In 2006 Genertec Italia successfully accessed the automotive market, by working not only as a commercial platform for the import-export of components and accessories, but also as a consultancy firm for the companies in the sector.

One of the reasons that explain its success is the China Automotive Research Institute (CAERI), the state-owned Chinese research and development institute that was taken up within the Genertec Group in 2006.

Having a staff made up of over 1400 professionals, CAERI is the most important centre for the designing, testing and development in the Chinese automotive industry: it certifies the quality of new materials and new processes, provides technical advice to the companies, contributes to the definition of rules, quality standards and sector policies, develops and produces vehicles, engines and their components.
A real incubator for innovation and competences that, during its 40-years-long activity, designed and realised over 300 different vehicles, developed over 1000 research projects, and was awarded 149 awards for technical and scientific results.

This immense database of know-how and experience allowed Genertec Italia to evolve into a powerful reference for all the Italian companies in the automotive sector.
